What is an MGA
DUAL is an MGA, or managing general agent.
Our role is to underwrite insurance policies on behalf of insurers, who delegate underwriting authority to us, giving us binding authority to issue contracts on their behalf.
These binders mean we can underwrite risks up to a specified limit across different classes. Sometimes they delegate claims handling to us too. Insurers will specify a limit we can underwrite to across our different classes, according to their risk appetite.
Partnering with an MGA such as DUAL enables insurers to access specialist underwriting expertise. At the same time, our broker partners get more personalised cover for their clients’ risks. DUAL writes tailored policies across over 70 classes of business.
