Welcome to DUAL UK – the new name for DUAL Oliva
From 17th February, DUAL Oliva will be known as DUAL UK, and our products now exists as dedicated divisions for Care, Commercial and Construction. For DUAL Oliva clients, the service remains the same, via your usual contacts. Please see below for more information on the products and services, and team details.
Helping you do more
At DUAL, our goal has always been to help you do more. In recent years we’ve expanded in the UK and now have more than 25 specialist product lines across a number of sub-brands. While we remain firmly committed to our model of excellence, we now work with many broker partners and need a single brand identity.
We believe that unifying under a single DUAL brand will allow us to drive better outcomes for you. As part of the rebrand therefore, almost all the DUAL UK brands will have a shared and distinctive visual identity, helping you engage more easily with our products and services.

Meet the team
Steve Kelly
Steve Kelly
Head of Construction
Steve is the Head of Construction for DUAL, having joined the company in 2025. He has worked in the insurance industry for 35 years, of which 26 years were spent at RSA and latterly, nine years at Allianz. Steve has a deep technical and market knowledge of the construction and engineering insurance market, having led the underwriting of some of the largest conventional power and renewable energy risks in the UK and Europe.
Steve is married with two daughters and a keen sports fan, enjoying rugby, football, Formula 1 and golf.
James Ramira
James Ramira
Managing Director of Regional P&C and Social Care
James is the Managing Director of Regional P&C and Social Care, joining the company in 2014. He has over 25 years’ experience in the insurance industry, with 21 years specialising in the niche Social Care space on both the broker and underwriting functions.
Outside work, James is a big fan of sports especially football and golf. He enjoys travelling to different places with his family and socialising with friends.
Nicholas Holland
Nicholas Holland
Portfolio Director
Nic is the Portfolio Director for DUAL, and joined the company in 2018. He began as a trainee underwriter after graduating with a degree in economics. Nic went on to gain 13 years’ technical expertise and experience in the industry. He has been writing commercial and construction insurance for over 10 years, the last five years spent at DUAL specialising in construction with a substantial focus on underwriting and business development.
Outside work, Nic enjoys running, cycling, surfing, hiking and travel.
Linda Bichener
Linda Bichener
Underwriting Manager
Linda is the Underwriting Manager for the DUAL Commercial team, joining in 2000 and has been instrumental in the growth of the company. She provides a wealth of experience gained from 23 years in Property and Casualty underwriting, focusing on management in specialising schemes.
Outside work, Linda enjoys cooking, reading, reality television and travel.
