DUAL teams exhibiting at BIBA 2025

Steve is the Head of Construction for DUAL, having joined the company in 2025. He has worked in the insurance industry for 35 years, of which 26 years were spent at RSA and latterly, nine years at Allianz. Steve has a deep technical and market knowledge of the construction and engineering insurance market, having led the underwriting of some of the largest conventional power and renewable energy risks in the UK and Europe.

Steve is married with two daughters and a keen sports fan, enjoying rugby, football, Formula 1 and golf.

Aaron is the Trading Director in the DUAL Construction team, having joined the company in 2020. He started his career as an underwriting assistant back in 2011 and has since gained the Dip CII qualification as well as passing the CMI management course with distinction.

In his spare time, Aaron enjoys keeping fit at the gym, watching football, reading books and spending lots of time with his family at his beach hut and local nature reserves.

Nic is the Portfolio Director for DUAL, and joined the company in 2018. He began as a trainee underwriter after graduating with a degree in economics. Nic went on to gain 13 years’ technical expertise and experience in the industry. He has been writing commercial and construction insurance for over 10 years, the last five years spent at DUAL specialising in construction with a substantial focus on underwriting and business development.

Outside work, Nic enjoys running, cycling, surfing, hiking and travel.

Linda is the Underwriting Manager for the DUAL Commercial team, joining in 2000 and has been instrumental in the growth of the company. She provides a wealth of experience gained from 23 years in Property and Casualty underwriting, focusing on management in specialising schemes.

Outside work, Linda enjoys cooking, reading, reality television and travel.

Leah is a Senior Underwriter in the DUAL Commercial team, joining in 2022 and has over 18 years’ experience in the industry. She began her career in a leading broking firm and moved to underwriting in 2012, specialising in commercial and unoccupied insurance.

In her spare time, Leah takes long walks with her Springer Spaniel dog, loves trips to the theatre and enjoys shopping for vintage clothing.

James is the Managing Director of Regional P&C and Social Care, joining the company in 2014. He has over 25 years’ experience in the insurance industry, with 21 years specialising in the niche Social Care space on both the broker and underwriting functions.

Outside work, James is a big fan of sports especially football and golf. He enjoys travelling to different places with his family and socialising with friends.

Niall is a Senior Underwriter in the DUAL Social Care team. He joined in 2017 and has over ten years’ experience in the insurance industry. He began his career in a casualty claims role before moving to underwriting.

In his spare time, Niall enjoys going to music gigs, European weekend breaks and supporting Spurs football team.

Richard has 25+ years of underwriting experience, mainly in mid-large UK / European Property, with nearly all roles having involved being part of or eventually leading new proposition launches, including establishing new teams at Allied World, Berkshire Hathaway Specialty and DUAL. Richard is ACII-qualified and has been active on various Property committees for many years, including the London Business Interruption Association (LBIA) at present. He loves being part of the insurance industry.

Richard is married with two sons, with whom he enjoys sports and socialising. He likes to keep fit, mainly through running and some tennis. He also enjoys travel and dining out.

Natasha is the Regional Manager specialising in D&O & FI. Natasha joined the company in January of this year and has over 20 years’ experience in Financial Lines across underwriting and broking roles. Outside of work, Natasha looks to travel as much as possible.

Iain joined KGM as the Head of Business Development in May 2021 and is part of the senior leaders group based in Romford. He started his career in July 1981 as a Junior Clerk at NIG on the impressive salary of £2,700. Having done a number of roles at NIG such as Underwriter, Audit Underwriter, Technical Manager and Schemes Underwriter he finally moved into Distribution where he was Head of Distribution. He moved on to LV in 2011 as Head of Distribution. When he isn’t working, he takes on his best job which is being a grandad to George and Katie in addition he spends his time running, in the gym and fishing.

Samantha Kruger–Jones joined KGM in 2021 as Key Account Executive, group relationships, which include A-Plan, Howden and Aston Lark. Samantha has over 30 years insurance experience, previously working for 2 major insurance companies and an intermediary managing relationships throughout. Outside of work, Samantha likes to run and spend time with her two children.

Ciaran joined KGM as Managing Director in 2024 and in 2025 expanded his role to Chief Personal Lines Officer for DUAL UK. Ciaran has over a decade of leadership experience within the motor and home insurance sectors, having previously held senior roles at Hastings Group and Direct Line Group. He was most recently Managing Director of DriveScore, the app-driven motor insurance data business within ClearScore group.

Jim Barker is the Business Development Executive for the South, dealing with new opportunities as well as maintaining existing relationships. Originally joining KGM in 2005, he spent some years at Canopius before returning to KGM in 2017. Jim has over 35 years experience in the industry having started in High Street Broking, then working at John Holman & Sons and HSBC Insurance Company before joining KGM. Outside of work Jim likes to spend time with his family and play golf.

Jackie has been looking after KGM’s Midland’s and Northern Brokers since May 2019 having spent 5 previous at Covea Insurance as a Key Account Manager but establishing her career at Zurich back in 2000 with a variety of roles from sales to underwriting but always specialising in Motor Insurance within the Broker market. With over 20 years’ experience Jackie has a wealth of knowledge and connections within the industry and completed her DIP CII qualification. Outside of work Jackie can be found at the gym or relaxing in the garden with a glass of wine when not running around after her 6-year-old boy.

With over 38 years of experience in the Motor Insurance industry, Neil Manvell started at NIG in 1985 and stayed there for 23 years holding various roles at NIG, Churchill and RBS. Neil joined KGM in late 2008 as the Deputy Underwriter and was made Active Underwriter of the KGM Syndicate 260 in 2011. His long association with NIG and now KGM means that he is well known among the broker community, particularly the Specialist Vehicle and Motorcycle markets, where he is a well-respected industry figure. In his spare time Neil is a keen sports fan and is a season ticket holder at both Barnet FC and Saracens. Music is his other passion, regularly attending gigs at venues all over London.

John is Managing Director of Eridge Underwriting based in Tunbridge Wells. John formed Eridge Underwriting in 2015 and joined the Howden Group when Eridge were acquired by KGM in May 2022. Prior to setting up Eridge, he begun life in the motor insurance industry over 40 years ago at Renown Motor Policies, before joining The Minster. After a 12 month career break spent traveling, he worked for St Paul UK and then Service Underwriting carrying out various senior roles.

George is a Business Development Executive at Magenta. He joined in 2022, having previously worked at a local insurance broker for just over three years. Outside of work, he is currently in the process of buying his first house and is an avid Ipswich Town supporter, attending as many games as he can.

With 21 years of industry expertise, including 16 years at Magenta Insurance, I have developed extensive knowledge in non-standard property insurance and underwriting complex risks. Previous roles have equipped me with leadership in managing, developing and growing underwriting teams, risk assessment and cultivating long-term broker relationships. Guided by core values such as integrity, collaboration, adaptability and innovation, I am committed to building trust, fostering lasting relationships, and making a meaningful impact in the industry

Moira brings a wealth of experience having led trading, sales and deals teams for most of her career. She has over 35 years’ industry experience, having spent the majority of her career at RSA. She most recently served as North and Scotland Trading Director leading the Commercial Trading teams, as well as developing the strategy and team for RSA’s newly launched small mid-market position.

Georgina joined DUAL UK in January 2025, bringing over 20 years of experience from Chubb, where she served as UK&I Strategic Development Manager. She has also held positions at Zurich Insurance and Marsh, showcasing her extensive background in the industry.

Daniel joined DUAL UK in January 2025 bringing with him over 20 years experience gained from a mixture of Insurers, Brokers and MGA’s. Most recently he has led the development function for Granite Underwriting, together with leading the sales strategy for a variety of companies bringing with him a proven track record of success. Daniel has many strengths, in particular his ability to develop strong relationships across all levels.

Simon joined DUAL in 2024 to drive ambitious growth plans for our UK business. He’d previously worked for 19 years at Allianz, where he was CEO of Allianz Commercial and sat on the UK PLC board. Before that, he spent three years at Aviva, having started his career as a graduate at Commercial Union. Simon studied geography at the University of Reading and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. Outside of work, he’s a passionate rugby supporter, having played and coached the sport for many years.

Catherine Dixon is Chief underwriting Officer for DUAL UK. Joining the company in June 2024, she is responsible for leading the underwriting functions in the UK. Catherine brings over 35 years’ experience in the insurance industry, including roles in Underwriting, Risk Control and Portfolio Management. Prior to joining DUAL, Catherine was Chief Underwriting Officer at Allianz Commercial UK. In her spare time she enjoys running, growing her own vegetables, and gardening.

Rob joined DUAL in 2024 as chief distribution officer. He was previously regional director for AXA and, before that, managing director of Premierline insurance broker. Rob spent nine years at Allianz, having joined as management trainee with a master’s degree in international business from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Outside of work, Rob likes to play and watch all sorts of sport, and spend time with his young family.
