Faces of DUAL: Meet Chantelle Palmer, Business Development Manager

My name’s Chantelle. I live in Bristol and I’m the Business Development Manager for the South West and South Wales regions. 

Our focus within the business development team has been shaped by a lot of feedback from brokers about what’s important to them when working with insurers and MGAs. The main things we heard were service — being able to get hold of an underwriter and get quotes turned around quickly. 

We’ve taken that on board. We’re making sure we’re available when you need us — you can pick up the phone and speak to us. We’re turning quotes around within your timeframes, and you’ve got a friendly face on the other end to help with whatever you need. 

 

What have been your biggest successes over the last year?

Our biggest success over the last 12 months has to be opening our Bristol office — nearly a year ago now, which is crazy. In that time, we’ve been proactively working with independent brokers who hadn’t previously worked with DUAL. 

Our one-quote-to-market policy has really helped our brokers grow their books of business here at DUAL.

 

What three words would you use to describe DUAL’s culture?

The three words I’d use to describe DUAL’s culture are: energetic, evolving and inclusive.

 

What makes DUAL stand out in the market?

What makes DUAL different is the quality of our service — being able to answer the phone when you need us — combined with the quality London-market products we create. We’re bringing those products out into the regions and making them accessible to independent brokers. 

 

What’s on the horizon for DUAL?

We’ve got a few exciting things coming up at DUAL, including the release of Commercial Combined 2.0, expanded capacity for Construction, Real Estate and Natural Resources, and a few more things launching later in the year — so watch this space. 

 

What excites you about working at DUAL?

What excites me most about working at DUAL has to be the people. I absolutely love the team I work with, and I also enjoy the fact that we can quote on quirky risks that other insurers might not consider.

 

What do you like doing outside of work?

Outside of work, I’m a big advocate for mental health. I have ADHD myself and I’m a real cheerleader for others with ADHD as well. I also love travelling — I’ve actually been on around seven trips abroad this year.
