DUAL North America appoints Stephanie Calmeyn Executive Vice President, Head of Earthquake

Calmeyn succeeds Ian Fitt, who will retire at the end of the year

DUAL North America (“DUAL”) today announced that Stephanie Calmeyn, SVP, Capacity Manager, will be appointed Executive Vice President, Head of Earthquake, effective January 1, 2027, succeeding Ian Fitt who will retire from the role at the end of the year.

Calmeyn brings more than 25 years of insurance industry experience to the role, including 15 years working alongside Fitt and the Earthquake team. Having advanced from Underwriter to Portfolio Manager to Capacity Manager over that time, she brings deep familiarity with the book, the underwriting approach, and the broker relationships that have driven the business's growth.

Fitt's retirement comes after 28 years leading the Earthquake business, which he joined in 1998. He has served as President of DUAL's Earthquake division since DUAL acquired Catalytic in 2021. Over that time, he built the underwriting discipline, team, and program structure that have resulted in the Earthquake team’s longevity and success.
The transition represents a natural evolution rather than a new direction for the team, preserving the same disciplined approach that has defined the business under new leadership.

DUAL's Earthquake program provides extensive coverage for commercial property owners, backed by more than 120 years of combined team experience. Coverage is available on a primary, full-value, layered, or excess basis, non-admitted and nationwide, with select risks qualifying for up to $100 million in limits. The program covers earthquake, earth movement, and earthquake sprinkler leakage, with flood coverage also available in California, Washington, and Oregon.

Fitt will work closely with Calmeyn and the earthquake team through the transition, ensuring continuity for brokers and carrier partners alike.
